October 25, 2023

On October 18, at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, BoardWalk Consulting, Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, and Truist sponsored the 12th Annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference.

The theme for this year’s event, “Turbulence in the Talent Pool,” offered leadership techniques and solutions, along with particular guidelines for creating a diverse, multigenerational workplace. Senior consultant Bryan W. Jackson from Nonprofit HR was the event’s keynote speaker. In addition, Jackson holds the positions of co-chair of the Nonprofit HR Affinity Groups, qualified administrator for the 2022 Intercultural Development Inventory, 2020 Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate recipient from Georgetown University, and 2017 Surge Institute Fellow.

Additionally, attendees also heard from two panels which consisted of industry experts and addressed various topics related to the industry. The first panel was moderated by Community Leader Ann Cramer and addressed key objectives for success within the nonprofit sector. Panelists included Danita Knight, President & CEO of YWCA; Kwame Johnson, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters; and Doug Ammar, Executive Director of the Georgia Justice Project.

The second panel focused on nonprofit board involvement and management. It was moderated by Mary Pat Matheson, CEO of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and included panelists Dr. Raphael W. Bostic, President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Misty S. Fernandez, Regional Director of Georgia Power Company.
