Kathy Bremer

As Managing Director of BoardWalk Consulting, Kathy Bremer is passionate about helping nonprofits recruit great leaders and tenacious about finding sweet-spot matches. She has led numerous executive searches for clients including ADL, Heifer, Save the Children, CDC Foundation, Oxfam, HIAS, Research!America, Jane Goodall Institute, TSNE MissionWorks, The Trustees and many others.
 
Kathy joined BoardWalk in 2007 after eight years as head of Porter Novelli Atlanta, where she oversaw ten-fold growth. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President of fundraising and marketing for CARE. Private resources grew by 40% during her tenure.
 
Earlier in her career, Kathy was a senior executive at three New York ad agencies, where she led Procter & Gamble and other client work. Her team helped propel Folgers to number one coffee in America. Prior to these roles, she worked as a journalist and writer in Tokyo.
 
Kathy has served on or chaired a dozen boards including Global Impact, CHRIS180 and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. She is the current president of International Women’s Forum of Georgia, a member of the CDC Foundation Advancement Committee and a board member of Sheltering Arms.
 
Kathy has been interviewed by The New York Times, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, NPR and other media. She has won Effie awards, Procter & Gamble Business Building awards and the CHRIStal Vision Award.
 
Kathy earned a BA in Sociology from Harvard University, where she played varsity tennis and squash, volunteered in family services, founded an entrepreneurial sandwich business and wrote for the Harvard Crimson. She is an alumni interviewer of prospective Harvard students.
 
Kathy grew up in Queens, NY. She and her husband Alan have two sons. Kathy flew to Tokyo on a one-way ticket after college to begin the first of five career adventures.
