“We come to work excited to find people who will make a difference for our clients’ missions. When we find the right leader, the result is game-changing.”

Kathy joined BoardWalk in 2007 as Managing Director and, after 18 years of leading executive searches, is stepping into a new role as Senior Advisor. She has led numerous CEO searches for clients including ADL, The Carter Center, CDC Foundation, League of Women Voters, WABE, The Asia Foundation, and Common Cause.

As Senior Advisor, Kathy will continue to represent BoardWalk in the community and provide counsel internally. Her new role will give Kathy time to travel and speak about her book, Headhunter Confidential: The Unwritten Rules for Landing a Job You Love.

Prior to BoardWalk, Kathy was general manager of Porter Novelli Atlanta, where she oversaw ten-fold growth.  Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President of fundraising and marketing for CARE. Private resources grew by 40% during her tenure.

Earlier in her career, Kathy was a senior executive at three New York ad agencies, where she led Procter & Gamble and other client work. Her team helped propel Folgers to number one coffee in America. Prior to these roles, she worked as a journalist and writer in Tokyo.

Kathy has served on or chaired a dozen boards including Global Impact, CHRIS180 and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. She is the current president of International Women’s Forum of Georgia, a member of the CDC Foundation Advancement Committee and a board member of Sheltering Arms.

Kathy has been interviewed by The New York Times, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, NPR and other media. She has won Effie awards, Procter & Gamble Business Building awards and the CHRIStal Vision Award.

Kathy earned a BA in Sociology from Harvard University, where she played varsity tennis and squash, volunteered in family services, founded an entrepreneurial sandwich business and wrote for the Harvard Crimson. She is an alumni interviewer of prospective Harvard students.

Kathy grew up in Queens, NY. She and her husband Alan have two sons. Kathy flew to Tokyo on a one-way ticket after college to begin the first of five career adventures.
