Rozita La Gorcé, Executive Director, Watkins Christian Foundation

July 6, 2020

Atlanta, Georgia

Congratulations to Rozita La Gorcé on her appointment as Executive Director of Watkins Christian Foundation. Watkins Christian Foundation is an Atlanta-based grantmaker funded by profits from family-owned Watkins Associated Industries; since 1982, WCF has been quietly impacting thousands of lives across the Southeast and beyond through responsive grants to a variety of faith-based missions, especially those serving the region’s youth.

A native of Cape Town, South Africa, Rozita grew up the youngest of eight children. She first came to the US as an exchange student in the 11th grade and went on to earn her BA in English and her MA in Education from the University of Delaware.

Rozita spent 13 years as a member of the executive leadership team of Bainum Family Foundation, a major private foundation in the Washington, DC area. She joined Bainum as Director of Grants in 2006 and was subsequently named Vice President of Programs before being elevated to Chief Strategy Officer in 2012.

As noted in an internal memo to employees of Watkins Associated Industries and its extended family of companies, “Rozita herself is a model of the impact our grantees and partners can have on the people they serve. Her knack for philanthropic strategy and processes combined with her ability to connect with people at all levels gives us great confidence about our future together.
