Boardwalk Consulting is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Stephens as the Executive Director at the Rotary Club of Birmingham. For more than 100 years, the Rotary Club of Birmingham has brought together civic leaders in the community to learn, exchange ideas, and take action to solve critical community problems in Birmingham and beyond. Stephens will be taking on the role of Executive Director as of July 1st. Currently, he is vice president of community impact for United Way of Central Alabama. Boardwalk is proud in knowing that this partnership will benefit the community of Birmingham.

The Rotary Club of Birmingham will have a new leader starting this summer.
Dan Stephens has been named executive director, effective July 1. He will replace Susan Jackson, who is retiring after serving as the organization’s head since 1998.
Stephens currently is vice president of community impact for United Way of Central Alabama, where he collaborates with a network of 200 organizations across the metro area. He also also led some pivotal projects for the organization as well as the city, including the Bold Goals Coalition, the working group that launched Building (it) Together and was the United Way staff member for the Birmingham Promise.
Stephens currently is one of 30 nonprofit leaders nationwide attending the Allstate Foundation’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
“We are fortunate that our nationwide search not only brought us a highly-qualified leader, but an individual with extensive experience in our local nonprofit community,” said Fred McCallum, who chaired the club’s search committee. “We look forward to Dan’s leadership of the Rotary Club of Birmingham in the years to come.”
