Cynthia Moreland, Director, is an experienced nonprofit leader who brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership to BoardWalk clients. A native of Washington, D.C., she has been Executive Director of four respected nonprofits in the District of Columbia and Atlanta. Collectively, these organizations addressed issues of child and family welfare, community development, educational access and youth development.
 
Moreland has built and retained leadership teams throughout her career. Armed with extensive knowledge of the key attributes of dynamic nonprofit leadership, she offers specific, practical experience and insight from success gained through lived experience in a variety of settings. Moreland’s clients at BoardWalk include such global nonprofit organizations as Food for the Hungry and the Asian & Pacific Islander Health Forum.
 
Cynthia is passionate about serving others, and she uses her talent to expand the reach of existing nonprofit organizations. Her work has frequently garnered attention from local and national media for program success.
 
Moreland’s nonprofit consulting firm, The Synergy Group, worked with nonprofit boards and executive directors to improve sustained program outcomes, increase fundraising, and facilitate strategic planning.
 
Moreland earned a B.A. in Political Science from Antioch College. In her private time, she supports initiatives that build the self-esteem of girls and empower women. An avid foodie, she enjoys spending time with her family at dinner tables around the world debating social issues and political matters.
