Senior Director Kim Anderson (kim@boardwalkconsulting.com) has over 20 years' experience as executive director, board member and legal counsel for not-for-profit, for-profit and public sector entities. A true change agent, Kim strives to help her clients embrace the extraordinary opportunity represented by the boundlessness of their excellence.
Immediately prior to joining BoardWalk, Kim served as Executive Director of AID Atlanta, the Southeast’s largest AIDS service organization. Before AID Atlanta, Kim enjoyed an extensive legal career in the healthcare arena: After service with the law firm of Alston & Bird, she became the first General Counsel of Grady Health System, where she served as counsel to the Board of Trustees, the hospital and the medical staff. She subsequently served as Vice President & Assistant General Counsel for Magellan Health Systems, a publicly traded behavioral healthcare company, and senior legal counsel for the Atlanta Housing Authority, the nation’s fourth largest public housing agency.
Nurtured by her parents to serve whenever possible, Kim has always complemented her career pursuits with extensive involvement in the community. She has served as a member of the Fulton County Arts Council, the Atlanta Judicial Commission and as a Special Master for the Georgia Supreme Court. She has also served as President of a number of organizations, including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and the Georgia Legal Clinic for the Homeless. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of Kids in Need of Dreams and SunRise Bank.
Kim holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and Sociology from Oberlin College and a J.D. from Columbia University. Her husband, Gregory LeePow, is an information technology manager. They are the parents of two teenagers, Danielle and Mario. When time permits Kim enjoys walks in the mountains, reading, and collecting African American art.
